Our primary goal is to create a universally accessible playground for the community. They come in all shapes and sizes but provide activities that children with disabilities can enjoy and interact with their peers. Children receive educational, physical and emotional benefits from play.

Although we had initially hoped to be further along than we currently are, we did recently have the fencing fixed along the perimeter of the playground, and had new gates installed.

We are hoping that through some generous contributions of time and money, we'll be able to get the building and the pavilion areas done this year. We have been raising money in order to complete these renovations, for the past few years. These buildings will eventually hold miscellaneous small games, table tennis tables, a water fountain, and restrooms. We are also considering a small kitchenette. The kitchenette would be beneficial for fundraising, as well as a for a lunch program to be implemented when the playground is fully functional.

Some people have questioned our reasons for choosing the building and pavilion areas as our first projects instead of installing new equipment for the children. Our reasons are simple. By adding the buildings and the pavilion area we will be able to have fundraisers for further development directly on location.

We've had a few local bands that have played for us in the past, and they have told us they would love to play on location, however, not having electricity has been an issue.

When the buildings and pavilion are in place, we will be installing beverage vending machines to help raise additional money for the playground's new equipment.

Besides installing the new buildings and pavilions, we plan to install a walking track around the inside perimeter of the playground, and to, of course, have new playground equipment added for children of all ages to enjoy.

Additional plans include the installation of new sidewalks, and a landscaping project that will add beauty to the Line Street entrance area.

Currently, the empty playground is being used for football games and practices.
